U.S. Tour
11 day tour and only 2 games? Doesn't seem much point.

You don't get the romance of the impromptu road trip?

Don't know how your high school there worked but we could set up what we called spares, which were supposed to be study periods but were unsupervised.

So my friends and I had spares together right after lunch so had a essentially an hour and 40 min lunch in the middle of the day, some days.

We heard Taco Bell had come to our province and specifically the closest big city which was about 40 mins away. So we decided to go because we could. (We just had enough time to go there go through the drive through and go back.) Went to Edmonton like that for a few things. Shove 6 or 7 people in a tiny pick-up and play Life is a Highway.

(I almost go beat up getting a Philly cheesesteak in Philly once.)

I've got a friend from Philadelphia (about 100 miles away) he is happy to drive there on a whim to buy a Steak and Cheese sandwich.

These Americans are crazy!

Re: U.S. Tour
I think someone else already posted this, but fly into Vancouver B.C. It's generally quite a bit cheaper. There are plenty of coaches that depart from the airport and go to downtown Seattle. Wifi etc. No one will be throwing bottles at you.
Really looking forward to meeting some fellow hammers. Haven't been to a game in about 14 years or so.. The last a home defeat to chelski.
July 4th is a lot of fun but expect a bunch of pisstaking being English etc. But it's all good natured.

The away allocation is way up in the upper tier. But there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Be it Sounders or Seahawks.
haven't checked if the Mariners have a game, but they are finally having a pretty solid go at it at last.

If you like hiking etc you're in the right place too.

I might do Seattle. If I can get a reasonably priced flight.

Re: U.S. Tour
Who else is going to the Seattle game? I just bought five tickets. Taking some American mates. Love to see how they deal with a bunch of us in a pub.

Anyone heading to NC, here's a link to tix in the supporters section. It's coordinated through a local supporters group in Charlotte and the Railhawks, not through west ham. I have no idea if there is a different supporters section through the club.

cosmo smallpiece,

RE: "U.S. Tour"

There was me thinking you were referring to a West Ham 'legend'...

Frank Lampard is the worst signing in MLS history - he must call it quits at New York City FC

Used to drive about 24 hours (in a pick up through a lot worse weather than the Southern states in July) to visit a girl when I was young, surely West Ham is more important.

I drive to South Carolina once a year every year. It's not the journey, it's what's at the end of it.

You haven't lived in North America long enough if a 10/11 road trip puts you off.

Seattle is tempting, but it looks pretty expensive, as I'd only be going for a few nights.

I agree Cosmo, its 11 hrs drive for me,not worth it to watch a youth team.

Not driving 10 hours to N.C if there's no Payet

Re: U.S. Tour
I'll be in the States at this time and just checked prices of internal flights for either Phoenix to Seattle or Vegas to Carolina.

But both work out too expensive to make it worth while altering my plans.
